The new generation environment friendly and energy saving fluorescent lamps is known as T5 technology. T5 lamps use considerably less electricity, last longer and produce a better quality light with no flicker. it can saves more than 35% electrical energy.So using the latest technology will reduce electricity bills, reduce maintenance costs and improve working conditions.

Nos. of T5 required=(Area * Lx)/1725

  • Area: Measurement of area in square meter
  • Lx: Average lux required for specified area
  • 1725: Lumens of one T5 fixture (75lmx23w)
 
Savings using T5 compare to T8

For instance, If a supper market usages 1000pc of T8x36W fluorescent lamp with magnetic ballast for 10 hours a day and 26days a month.The total electricity consumptions per month becomes.

1000 pc X 0.036 KW X 26 days=936KW     
Electric Bill/month=(936X5.50)=5,148.00 Tk.
(where 1KW=5.50 Tk)

If you use T5X28W instead of T8X36W it comes

1000 pc X 0.025 KW X 26 days=650KW
(fact power is only 25w)
Electric Bill/month=(650X5.50)= 3,575.00 Tk.
(where 1KW=5.50 Tk)

Net difference (5,148.00-3,575.00)=1,573 Tk/month

Net Savings(1,573x12)=18,876 Tk/year
+ Double life time(15000 hrs)

Difference between T5 & T8

The T5 tubes are designed to last for a longer period of around 15,000 hours. The T8 tubes are designed to last only 8,000 hours. Almost constant lumen maintenance throughout the entire life of the lamp due to Luxline  Plus triphosphor technology.

Through out the test, the lumen between T8*36W with magnetic ballast and T5*28W with electronic ballast, we found T5*28w more bright than T8*36W.
